The purpose of this study is to explore the causal relationship between kitchen employees at a five-star hotel and customers by examining the mediating effect of customer relations on employee’ job involvement and job satisfaction. A survey was conducted from March 1st to March 25th, 2017 on kitchen staff that worked at an open-kitchen five-star hotel. The findings show that kitchen employees are satisfied when they are able to promptly answer customer questions with their own knowledge or through the use of specialized technology to form more intimate forms of relationships. he study is meaningful by being the first academic step to theoretically define positive influences on employee’s job satisfaction in relation to customer interactions in the hotel industry.
